NHS App

The new, simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.

What the NHS App does

Use the NHS App to:

  • check your symptoms
  • find out what to do when you need help urgently
  • book and manage appointments at your GP surgery
  • order repeat prescriptions
  • view your GP medical record securely
  • register to be an organ donor
  • choose how the NHS uses your data

Connecting GP surgeries to the NHS App

If you already use Systmonline you can continue to use it. You can use the NHS App as well.

Keeping your data secure

When you connect and you register in the app, we'll carry out checks to confirm your identity. The app will then securely connect to information from your GP surgery. To keep your access secure, we'll send a security code to your phone each time you use the app.

doctorlink

DoctorLink provides the ability to seek clinically approved medical advice around the clock. This helps to reduce unnecessary surgery appointments, getting patients to the right place for their clinical need. DoctorLink will provide advice on how to best manage your symptoms.

How does it work?

For all urgent appointments, we ask that you undertake a symptom assessment through DoctorLink.

The symptom checker will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem and the outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self care.

The practice will also receive a copy of the symptom assessment highlighting the required action needed and the information you provide will be shared, where appropriate, with our clinical team.

Once the request has been submitted you may be contacted by the Practice Team to arrange an appointment within the identified timeframe as outlined in the outcome of your symptom checker.

Please note:

  • DoctorLink is not connected to your patient record so information about you is not being shared with DoctorLink.
  • You can continue to ring the surgery to see a GP or another member of the clinical team as normal.
